How to uninstall a Windows update that caused problems
If a problem began immediately after an update and other likely causes have been ruled out, uninstalling the update can be a recovery option. Removing security updates has security trade-offs, so confirm the cause first.
When Windows still boots
Go to Settings → Windows Update → Update history → Uninstall updates, then choose the update to remove. Some updates cannot be uninstalled.
When Windows will not boot
In Windows Recovery Environment, choose Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Uninstall Updates and use the latest quality-update removal option when appropriate.
Before removing it
Back up important files and check whether the update includes security fixes. After the issue is resolved, follow the vendor's resolution status and return to a supported security state.
